Mission for Connecticut (4)
For the last five years we have worked out of a former landfill at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, CT. In 2011, we discontinued use of this site due to environmental concerns and public policies which restricted free access to many of our clients and students. In response, we have asked permission from the City of Bridgeport to move to downtown Bridgeport in the transportation hub at a site we are calling the Bridgeport Boat Basin. While we have yet to receive full approval, we are working feverishly to open our downtown facility by May 1 with a second and third facility at UCONN Avery Point and New Haven Harbor by summer 2012. Here are some photos of our planned sites -
The 2010 Wishlist (4)
2010 plans include continuing to build a public access maritime educational facility at Seaside Park, but also creating a public-access docking/educational facility in Bridgeport Harbor. As we endeavor to continue our goal of having as little impact on our environment as possible while we build, we rely on donations and recycled materials to build and grow. Please look over this list and perhaps you might be able to assist us in growing CCB! -
The Work Party 3.28.09 (7)
Here are some photos of our work party held March 28,2009. We had a great turnout of volunteer who made a huge difference and a ton of progress in cleaning up our new home. -
We're building a new facility at Seaside Park in Bridgeport (6)
We sailed from the public boat ramp last year, but will be moving to the old boat ramp this season where we plan to rebuild the old 1967 dock that is now in disrepair
